OREM, Utah (March 9, 2020) – Last spring, Collegiate Consulting was retained by Utah Valley University to assist in the development of an intercollegiate athletics strategic plan. After submission of the first draft in July, and several edits in the subsequent months, the plan has been approved by the institution and it will begin implementation.
Over the course of this project, Collegiate Consulting interviewed more than 75 stakeholders for the project, as well as completed benchmarking analysis and assessment for not only the Western Athletic Conference, but also UVU peer- and aspirant-institutions. The stakeholders who were evaluated included student-athletes, coaches, administrators, alumni, donors, community members and university leadership.
The development of the strategic plan was an initiative for Director of Athletics Dr. Jared Sumsion, who was named to the position in May 2019. Dr. Jared Sumsion said of the plan, “A strong and sound game plan is instrumental to any department’s success, and we feel like ours is truly top-notch. We would like to thank Collegiate Consulting, as well as everyone involved who helped bring this plan to fruition.”
