Collegiate Consulting has completed two multi-divisional compliance reviews
for Division II and Division III institutions in the last month, which include sports
that compete at Division I – including Johns Hopkins University (M/W Lacrosse)
and Lake Superior State University (M-Ice Hockey).
The review is an extensive process, involving a comprehensive assessment of
the following: academic support, organizational structure, institutional control,
rules, education, eligibility and student-athlete certification, financial aid,
recruitment and monitoring of student-athletes, administration of camps and
clinics, extra benefits and amateurism, playing and practice seasons, and
student-athlete welfare.
If ascension is “anything that moves you from the place you’re from to a
potential of where you could be,” then women’s basketball has risen.
With record-breaking ticket sales, new branding and 14.2 million viewers for the
NCAA DI women’s tournament, this year was phenomenal. With stars like the
University of Iowa’s Caitlin Clark and Louisiana State University’s Angel Reese,
viewers tuned-in to watch this rapidly-growing competition.
In the rush to win, sports sometimes misses the notion of progress. The team at
Collegiate Consulting specializes at recognizing this expanding opportunity for
women sports and all emerging sports.
