Voorhees to Explore DII Possibilities

Voorhees College retained Collegiate Consulting to conduct a Feasibility Study to examine potential Division II membership. The study will provide conference analyses, budget review, staffing and salary assessment, facility benchmarking, Title IX analysis and curated recommendations for Voorhees.

Voorhees’ 10 varsity sports teams will be compared to and contrasted with member-institutions from the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) throughout the course of this study. In addition to the research aggregated in the final report, Collegiate Consulting will provide an overview of the DII application process, including current landscape metrics, membership requirements and compliance protocols.

What's The Word?

Looking back, 2021 is a year that reflects unevenly in the rearview mirror. While the world was eager for a return to normalcy, many second-semester freshmen began the year with continued distance education; their campuses a screensaver and their classrooms via Wi-Fi. In college sports, institutions ran the gamut of re-entry: Some schools had two seasons of teams competing simultaneously, while others proved cautious in re-entering the athletic atmosphere.

On the administrative side, the re-emergence from lockdown had several athletic departments eager to make conference and division changes – many with the assistance of Collegiate Consulting. All the moving pieces may seem like the perfect analogy for chess, but the impact on the collegiate athletic landscape presents more like dominoes.

For the new year, our team is excited about the opportunities 2022 will bring. We are resolute in continuing to preserve and improve the student-athlete experience, while providing our partners with top tier service and support.

The resilience and dedication that college athletes have demonstrated in the past year is something deserving of recognition and applause.

Please follow us to watch how we highlight these athletic advancements.
