ATLANTA (Sept. 20, 2022) – Sam Houston State University and Jacksonville State University submitted applications to join the Football Bowl Subdivision and Conference USA beginning in the 2023-24 season. Collegiate Consulting assisted both institutions with submission of their FBS Membership Application and development of FBS-centric Intercollegiate Athletic Strategic Plan.
Collegiate Consulting has a long history working with both institutions. In 2011, Collegiate Consulting completed a comprehensive FBS Feasibility Study for SHSU. That study was followed by two Benchmarking Assessments in 2015 and 2019. For the most recent project, Collegiate Consulting started working with SHSU in March 2022, concluding with the application and strategic plan submission in June.
Collegiate Consulting completed its first project for Jacksonville State in 2008 completing a FBS Feasibility Study for the Gamecocks. In 2010, Collegiate Consulting returned to conduct a six-month Ticketing & Marketing Assessment and development of External Strategic Plan. Identical to the SHSU timeline, Collegiate Consulting began working with JSU in March 2022 to assist with their respective FBS application and strategic plan.
In the past 24 months, Collegiate Consulting has completed a half-dozen FBS Feasibility Studies for FCS member-institutions considering reclassification and conference realignment.
