NORFOLK, VA (December 21, 2024) – Collegiate Consulting’s assistance and support of Norfolk State University’s search for its new Football Head Coach has concluded with the announcement of four-time NFL Pro Bowler and former NFL No. 1 draft pick Michael Vick, as the Spartans 19th football head coach.
Over the course of the two ½ week search, Collegiate Consulting received more than 65 applicants for the position, with NSU conducting interviews the first and second week of December. Vick will be formally introduced at a press conference on Monday, December 23 at 10 a.m. EST.
A Hampton Roads high school legend, Vick was an All-American quarterback at Virginia Tech, prior to being the No. 1 draft choice in the 2001 NFL Draft. The four-time pro bowler spent thirteen seasons with three teams in the NFL amassing 22,464 passing yards and 133 touchdowns while rushing for 6,109 yards with 36 touchdowns. Since 2017, Vick has worked as an NFL Analyst for Fox NFL Kickoff.
