Collegiate Consulting Assists Tarleton State with Completion of Division I Strategic Plan

STEPHENVILLE, Texas (May 19, 2020) – Tarleton State will become a member of Division I and  the Western Athletic Conference on July 1, 2020.  Collegiate Consulting has recently completed working with Tarleton State on its Division I Strategic Plan, after previously completing Tarleton State’s Division I Feasibility Study.

Since the institution’s announcement in November 2019 that it would move to Division I and membership in the WAC beginning in the 2020-21 season, the athletic department has taken exponential steps in preparation for year one.  As part of the transition, Tarleton State will add 18 administrative positions and 15 coaching positions in the next 36 months.  In addition, the school will add men’s golf and women’s soccer as part of the transition process.  Financial aid will increase from 106 scholarships to 177 by the 2024-25 athletic year.  The athletic budget is projected to increase to $17 million in the subsequent five years.

Tarleton State is the third Collegiate Consulting partner-institution which will apply for Division I this year.  In addition to Tarleton State, Collegiate Consulting is working with Dixie State University (WAC) and Bellarmine University (ASUN), all who will enter the Division I process in July.
