CARROLLTON, Ga. (September 8, 2023) – Collegiate Consulting Assists UWG with Invite to DI ASUN. We are proud to support the University of West Georgia as it makes the transition to Division I and accepts an invitation to join the ASUN Conference. The Board of Regents of the University System of Georgia approval, paved the way for UWG’s reclassification and approval.
Retained in December 2022, Collegiate Consulting 266-page feasibility study was delivered to UWG in February 2023. The report provided a comprehensive comparison to the ASUN, Ohio Valley Conference and Southland Conference. The Feasibility Study marks the 8th time Collegiate Consulting has worked with UWG, including a previous Division I Feasibility Study in 2012
Collegiate Consulting projected UWG current athletic budget of $10.5 million would witness a 59% increase by FY2029. Student-athlete financial aid is projected to increase by 75 scholarships. Over the next six years, sports operating budgets will increase by nearly $1 million and is projected to add 8 – 10 positions, both administrative and coaches.
In the past five years, Collegiate Consulting has assisted Bellarmine University, Queen University of Charlotte, University of North Alabama, Stonehill College and now UWG with their Division I Feasibility Study and invitation to join the ASUN. Overall, Collegiate Consulting has completed 18 Division I Feasibility Studies in the past 36 months, including Stonehill, Tarleton State, Utah Tech and Cal Baptist. Currently, Collegiate Consulting is actively engaged in four Division I Feasibility Studies.
