Collegiate Consulting Completes Athletics Operational Analysis for Ramapo College of New Jersey

MAHWAH, NJ (September 10, 2024) – Collegiate Consulting has completed a comprehensive Intercollegiate Athletics Operational Review for Ramapo College of New Jersey. The focus of the study was to provide a comprehensive assessment of intercollegiate athletics as well as benchmarking of intercollegiate athletics to the New Jersey Athletic Conference. The final report would provide actionable and prioritized action items incorporating our findings and best practices, which were in alignment with the College’s institutional strategic plan.

As part of the comprehensive analysis, Collegiate Consulting interviewed more than fifty stakeholders, including institutional, athletic, community, and alumni participants. Each department within intercollegiate athletics as well as coaches for the 18 sports programs provided feedback. In addition, Collegiate Consulting met with the president’s office, admissions, financial aid, general counsel, advancement, strategic enrollment, and CFO.

The analysis included a review of the organization and staffing; facilities; sports sponsorship; student-athlete recruitment, retention and experience; Title IX; and external revenue.

Founded in 1969, Ramapo College of New Jersey sponsors 18 NCAA Division III sports programs, and is a member (1976) of the New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC). Ramapo has 331 student-athletes, who excel academically, achieving a 3.09 cumulative GPA and graduating at 83%. The past athletic year (2023-24), Ramapo captured NJAC championships in volleyball, its first; and baseball, their third NJAC title.
