Collegiate Consulting Completes Bellarmine Head Men’s Lacrosse Coach Search, Hiring Jim Mitchell

LOUISVILLE, KY (June 21, 2018) – Bellarmine University has hired Jim Mitchell as its head men’s lacrosse coach after a national search. Bellarmine utilized Collegiate Consulting, an Atlanta-based consulting firm, for the search.

Collegiate Consulting worked closely with Bellarmine President Dr. Susan Donovan and Director of Athletics Scott Wiegandt to cultivate a broad pool of applicants and provide support throughout the selection process. Additionally, the firm helped with development and distribution of the job description as well as candidate review.

“We were very pleased to have Collegiate Consulting work with us on this important hire,” Wiegandt said. “We had a very deep pool of applicants that Collegiate Consulting cultivated. We are looking to take our lacrosse program to new heights, and with the coaching search culminating with the hiring Jim Mitchell, we are confident we will do just that.”

Mitchell, most recently the offensive coordinator at Rutgers University and a former Duke assistant, is no stranger to the Bellarmine lacrosse program, having served on the Knights’ coaching staff during the 2013 and 2014 seasons.

“We enjoyed working with Dr. Donovan, Scott and his team on this hire,” said Russell Wright, Collegiate Consulting Managing Director. “Jim Mitchell has unique qualities and his familiarity with the program makes him a terrific choice. We are grateful for the opportunity to partner with Bellarmine.”

Bellarmine marked the third lacrosse search in the past two years for Collegiate Consulting and is the sixth search it has conducted in 2018. Collegiate Consulting has worked with more than 500 institutions since its inception in 2005.
