Collegiate Consulting Creates Athletics Strategic Initiatives & Benchmarking Study for University of Texas-Rio Grande Valley

Project to Help Vaqueros as the University Embarks on New Era

UTRGVEdinburg, Texas – Collegiate Consulting recently developed a strategic initiative and benchmarking study for the University of Texas-Pan American athletic department as the institution transitions into the University of Texas-Rio Grande Valley era.  UTRGV, formed from the consolidation of UTPA and the University of Texas–Brownsville, is set to commence in Fall 2015, a marquee chapter in the history, and future, of the institution.

Collegiate Consulting’s study reviewed the past and current position that UTPA has within the Western Athletic Conference and NCAA Division I athletics.  Strategic goals and initiatives were outlined as they related to the current and future athletic program’s competitiveness, academics, budgets, revenue, compliance, marketing and facilities.

Collegiate Consulting also outlined recommendations in integrating the University of Texas-Brownsville into the new University of Texas-Rio Grande Valley athletic program. The strategic plan provides for areas of opportunity, including marketing and branding with UTB.
