PENSACOLA, Florida (March 26, 2019) – Collegiate Consulting was on campus in Pensacola this week to present the new “ANCHOR” strategic plan to the University of West Florida’s Sword and Shield Counsel, Intercollegiate Athletic Advisory Committee, athletic department and president. After 13 years of partnership, this is the ninth project Collegiate Consulting has completed for the University; the firm was thrilled to help UWF launch their extremely successful football program in 2016.
In concert with the institution’s 2017-2022 strategic plan, the new athletic strategic plan focuses on maintaining and growing the solid foundation the institution’s built in terms of retaining high-quality personnel, proven competitive excellence on the field and most importantly, “Building Champions for Life.” Building on these strengths with the university, the athletics department is on its way to revealing its road map to guide decision-making into the future. Connecting these two strategic plans gives the athletics department the opportunity to continue to grow the profile of the department, while building strong ties with the community.
“As always, we are so proud of our athletics department and the achievements of our student-athletes,” said UWF Director of Athletics, Dave Scott. “This strategic plan allows our program to establish tangible goals, set expectations and will serve as a crucial, yet fluid guide to how the athletic program continues to grow and excel in congruence with the university in the future.”
ANCHOR, the acronym representing the core principles, will be:
· Academic Success
· Nationally Competitive Facilities
· Championship Programs
· Heath and Student Welfare
· Opportunities for Community Engagement
· Resources to Achieve Excellence
