Atlanta, GA (July 20, 2015) – Collegiate Consulting is pleased to announce the advancement of all seven partner institutions pursuing Division II membership. News comes from the Division II Membership Committee’s meeting last week in Indianapolis announcing the future of all institutions seeking membership. All schools seeking membership must undergo a three-year provisional process before gaining full Division II eligibility. Of all institutions that are seeking Division II membership Collegiate Consulting is currently working with 35% in the provisional membership process.
Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University and Emmanuel College were accepted into year two of their candidacy. Three institutions progressed into year three of the provisional membership: Southern Wesleyan University, Rogers State University and Mississippi College. These institutions’ athletic departments have shown dedication to the ongoing Division II process.
“We have been anxiously awaiting the news from the Membership Committee and look forward to moving into our final year of the transition and the provisional year before becoming an active member of NCAA Division II next July,” stated Rogers State Director of Athletics Ryan Erwin.
Lastly, Collegiate Consulting is thrilled to learn of Lee University and the University of Virginia’s College at Wise’s admittance as full Division II members starting this Fall. This announcement concludes a multi-year process that shows the commitment that each institution has for growing their athletic department and enhancing the student-athlete experience.
“We are pleased that the NCAA has recognized the hard work of so many people in the athletic department and the entire college community”, stated UVa-Wise Director of Athletics Danny Sterling. “This is the final step in the NCAA Division II transition, but this is the first step in making UVa-Wise a competitive program that regularly competes for championships.”
“Everyone at Collegiate Consulting is proud to receive news of all seven of our institutions’ advancement in the Division II membership process,” said Collegiate Consulting Managing Director Russell Wright. “The progress reflects the hard work that each athletic department has put in to reaching new heights for their individual athletic departments, institutions and student-athletes.”
