Tallahassee, FL – The suspension of the men’s tennis and golf teams at FAMU will end in time for them to begin playing again next spring, athletics director Kellen Winslow told the President’s Alumni Advisory Board for Athletics on Tuesday.
Winslow also presented portions of findings and recommendations for changes by Collegiate Consulting Group during the two and a half hours meeting at Tucker Hall on FAMU’s campus. The report touched on every facet of athletics, including marketing the school’s brand and making significant upgrades to Bragg Stadium.
The results of a study for which Collegiate Consulting Group was commissioned last fall shed light on why non-budget related changes have been ongoing in the athletic department. Some of the recommendations, including restructuring his department are already in place, Winslow said.
Collegiate Consulting Group also recommended ways for FAMU to make Bragg a more fan-friendly stadium by adding luxury seats and offering better concession services. Some of those will be in place for this season while others will come next year, Winslow said.
