BEAUMONT (January 3, 2017) – Lamar University, one of the premier technical institutes of Texas, utilized Collegiate Consulting for its head football coach search, completed at the end of 2016. The search culminated in the hiring of native Texan and seasoned Division I coach, Mike Schultz. This is Collegiate Consulting’s third coaching search in and sixth overall in the past six months.
Collegiate Consulting worked closely with Lamar University Athletic Director, Jason Henderson, to create a diverse pool of applicants and provided support throughout the selection process. Additionally, the firm helped with development and distribution of the job description as well as candidate review.
“We were very pleased to have Russell Wright and the Collegiate Consulting team as part of our search process. They were extremely valuable in developing a robust and diverse candidate pool and providing vetting and expertise throughout, which ultimately lead us to hire Mike, who I think is going to bring a lot of energy,” stated Henderson.
“We are grateful for the opportunity that Mr. Henderson provided to us,” remarked Collegiate Consulting Managing Director, Russell Wright. “Coach Schultz will be a great fit for Lamar’s football program, given his virtually life-long connection to Texas football and his many years of experience.”
Collegiate Consulting has worked with more than 500 institutions since its inception in 2005 and the Lamar coach search is the sixth and final search that the firm has completed in 2016.
