Lawrence University Partners with Collegiate Consulting for Operational Review

APPLETON, WI (June 6, 2025) – Collegiate Consulting completed a comprehensive operational review for Lawrence University’s intercollegiate athletic program. The study included a comprehensive benchmarking comparison to the Midwest Conference as well as a 360-degree assessment of the athletic program, which concluded with recommendations, timelines and projected revenue and expenses for the athletic program.

Collegiate Consulting spent two days on campus, touring the campus and athletic facilities and interviewing 35+ internal and external athletic stakeholders. Key findings included increasing outdoor practice space; expansion of locker room and coach’s offices; development of formalized roster management program; and increase administrative support for the athletic program.

The benchmarking comparison found Lawrence’s sport sponsorship offering is one of the highest in the Midwest Conference; competitive results have witnessed incremental improvements; there are opportunities to improve sports operating budgets and sport/athletic fundraising.

Collegiate Consulting developed a three-year roster management and Net Tuition Revenue goal for each sports program, while maintaining the current retention and graduation rates. The NTR program would result in incremental increases to the number of student-athletes as well as provide incentives for the programs to achieve and maintain their roster goals.

In the past 24 months, Collegiate Consulting has completed similar studies for Portland State, Canisius, St. John Fisher and South Carolina State. Having recently celebrated its 20th anniversary; Collegiate Consulting is recognized as one of the leading consulting firms within higher education/intercollegiate athletics.
