Lindenwood Adds Men’s Ice Hockey for 2022 with Assist from Collegiate Consulting’s Feasibility Study

SAINT CHARLES, MO (March 24, 2022) – Lindenwood University, which announced on Feb. 23 its intent to move to Division I and membership in the Ohio Valley Conference, announced on Thursday it will start men’s hockey program for Division I competition in the Fall 2022.   In May 2018, Collegiate Consulting, completed a comprehensive hockey feasibility study for Lindenwood. 

 Collegiate Consulting projected $512,000 for 18 scholarships; annual operating budget of approximately $500,000 and four-person hockey staff earning approximately $375,000 per annum.  In addition the report recommended an additional staffing in athletic training, sports communication and academics/compliance.  The men’s program would play at the 2,500-seat Centene Community Ice Center, which opened in Sept. 2019.  Collegiate Consulting projected year one ticket revenue of $291,500 and $450,000 in hockey fundraising.

 Collegiate Consulting completed Lindenwood’s Hockey Feasibility Study (with support from the St. Louis Blues) along with studies for Oakland University (Detroit Red Wings), University of Illinois (Chicago Black Hawks) and two other institutions.  In addition, Collegiate Consulting has completed 25 hockey projects, including Simon Fraser, Bemidji State, Utica, Alabama – Huntsville and Stonehill.
