USC Upstate with Support from Collegiate Consulting Unveils “Adapt.Evolve.Grow.The Path UP” Athletic Strategic Plan

SPARTANBURG, SC (Jan. 17, 2020) – Collegiate Consulting recently assisted with the completion of a comprehensive strategic plan for the University of South Carolina Upstate.

The strategic plan entitled Adapt.Evolve.Grow.The Path UP is the road map for Upstate athletics over the course of the next five years. The strategic plan outlines key areas of focus and growth in developing, building and preparing its student-athletes for success throughout their lifetime.

Collegiate Consulting, through a series of on-campus interviews, benchmarking and external research, worked with Upstate institutional and athletics senior staff to identify key themes, goals and
strategies across every area of the department.  The primary themes of the plan include: Competitive Success; Student-Athlete Experience & Success; Campus & Community Engagement; Fiscal Sustainability; Facilities Maintenance and Professionalism & Program Integrity.

Upstate and Collegiate Consulting constructed the Strategic Plan over the course of 15 months and more than 125 stakeholder interviews.  The athletic plan is congruent with the institutional “UP.Together” which was unveiled in 2018.

This is the athletic department’s first strategic plan and was a critical organizational and communication piece for director of athletics Daniel Feig, who became AD in June 2018.

This is the 10th strategic plan that Collegiate Consulting has assisted with in the past 18 months. Previous institutional work includes, Virginia Commonwealth University; University of West Florida; University of North Carolina Asheville and Milligan College.
