CARROLLTON, Georgia – The University of West Georgia has announced its development of a new strategic plan for its athletic department. West Georgia will retain Atlanta-based Collegiate Consulting, which conducted an operational review of the athletic department a year ago.
“Our strategic plan will show the commitment we have to our student-athletes and their success on and off the field,” stated Dr. Bill Estes, West Georgia’s Vice President for Advancement. “Collegiate Consulting developed an extensive operational review for us, and we expect nothing but the best as their team creates our new strategic plan.”
The strategic plan will address areas of need identified in the operational review while maintaining West Georgia’s values and image. Collegiate Consulting will focus on all facets of the Division II athletic department, including academics, external relations and athletic competition.
“Our goal is to put West Georgia in a position to be not just the best program in the Gulf South Conference, but to be one of the best programs in the country,” explained Collegiate Consulting Managing Director Russell Wright. “The University has a tremendous foundation that we’re aiming to build upon for the next five years.”
Collegiate Consulting has extensive experience in athletics strategic plan development. The firm has provided similar services for more than a dozen universities, conferences and organizations. In the case with UWG, Collegiate Consulting will be able to utilize its findings in its operational review from 2012 to address key areas for improvement.
