Collegiate Consulting was retained by the University of West Alabama to assist in the development of an intercollegiate athletics strategic plan. After submission of the initial draft and several edits, the new athletic plan has been approved and launched by UWA.
Over the course of this project, Collegiate Consulting interviewed more than 50 stakeholders for the project, as well as comprehensive benchmarking assessment of UWA to the Gulf South Conference. The stakeholders who provided their feedback included student-athletes, coaches, administrators, alumni, donors, community members and institutional leadership.
While men’s football has dominated our headlines for the last few weeks, it’s important to remember the other champions of fall sports: Stanford and Cal winning DI women’s and men’s water polo, respectively; Cal State LA taking DII women’s volleyball; and Pomona-Pitzer edging out Wisconsin-La Crosse for DIII men’s cross-country.
There is room for many sports in all divisions and conferences, but the application and dedication to training and student-athlete safety and well-being must be applied.
Also, just because New Year’s is over doesn’t mean we can’t celebrate all the coaches and staff who help pave the way. Coaching comes from all directions: The greatest athletic administrations know where to point.
New seasons, new competitive teams, new staff – the new year shows several avenues for teams to compete with a novel mindset, and maybe a new collective game strategy.
As Collegiate Consulting continues to partner with institutions of varying size and conference competition level, we are excited to explore opportunities for each new and existing client. There are several moving pieces to research and analyze that give our university partners an expanded perspective for potential excellence.
We thrive on connection with our college athletic community and we seek to champion their notable actions and achievements.
Please follow us so we can celebrate and elevate each other together.
