Effective July 1, Le Moyne will officially begin its four-year reclassification process to become a Division I institution. One key part in its transition was Collegiate Consulting’s feasibility study.
Retained in January 2022, Collegiate Consulting produced an initial Benchmarking Study in April 2022 and the comprehensive Division I Feasibility Study in August.
The 175-page feasibility study included on-campus interviews with students, coaches, alumni and institutional leadership. The report provided an inclusive comparison to the NEC, America East and Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference. To review the final report and fully explore all Division I opportunities, Le Moyne formed an ad hoc committee in June 2022.
After Collegiate Consulting’s comprehensive Conference Membership Study, Western Illinois University announced a move to the Ohio Valley Conference.
The 55-page study focused on assessing sports sponsorship, travel considerations, conference competitiveness, institutional alignment, line-item athletic expenses (scholarships, operating budgets, staffing) and external sources of revenue. Collegiate Consulting also analyzed divisional alignment and potential scheduling options as part of their study.
The study ascertained WIU was in alignment to the OVC with regard to institutional fit, sports sponsorship, geography/travel and athletic financial aid.
With the limited time coaches and administrators have to reassess the structure of an athletic department, summer provides a recess, a time with a little bit else, in play.
To assist universities looking to address theirs structures and adhere to college mission statements, Collegiate Consulting can reinforce secure foundations.
This is the break provided to give back to the student-athletes in a way that is rooted in strong guidance and overall support, and Collegiate Consulting is excited to help.
We’ve already been thrilled to help our partners at Emporia State with a search for a women’s head basketball coach and a Senior Associate Athletic Director of Internal Operations. Contact us for more details.
Most schools will be seeing the mass exodus of students and student-athletes. Summer often provides the opportunity for athletic departments to reflect on the past school year, both in terms of teams’ competitiveness and departmental structure and operations. This is the time of year that Collegiate Consulting’s services, such as feasibility and benchmarking studies, strategic planning and operational reviews, can provide comprehensive and comparative perspective.
As Collegiate Consulting continues to partner with institutions of varying size and conference competition level, we are excited to explore opportunities for each new and existing client. There are several moving pieces to research and analyze that give our university partners an expanded perspective for potential excellence.
We thrive on connection with our college athletic community and we seek to champion their notable actions and achievements.
Please follow us so we can celebrate and elevate each other together.
